![]() Voluntary service in IndiaIf you work in the medical field or another profession that could be useful to Calcutta Rescue and you wish to be involved in a humanitarian project in India then please send us your application!Calcutta Rescue in India has a permanent team of professionals such as doctors, teachers, accountants, health advisors, pharmacists who work alongside other workers who have usually been recruited from among the former patients. The only European working on a permanent basis in Calcutta is Dr. Jack, the founder of this great humanitarian cause. Western volunteers usually come for a period of several months and make a valuable contribution by bringing their expertise and experience and latest western techniques. Posts for specialized nurses, pharmacists, administrators, educators and physiotherapists are always open. Medical experts are highly sought after with their new techniques as well as experienced accountants, auditors and human resources in order to help us run the organisation well. There are some limited places for short term volunteers. Unfortunately, Calcutta Rescue does not offer courses for medical or pharmaceutical students, nursing students or teacher training. This is due to our resources, limited qualified staff and heavy workload. A certain level of English is required to work in the Calcutta Rescue organisation. An excellent way to test your level is to see if you understand the practical information documents. Documents to download (pdf) |
