Tala Park Clinic

Tala Park is situated in Tarashanker Sarani and is Calcutta Rescue’s biggest clinic taking in around 80 patients on average per day. Services provided include:

  • General health care for adults and children, including basic medical treatments, dressing wounds and burns, vaccinations, clothing, physiotherapy and prevention (hygiene and health awareness)
  • Treatment for patients with rare forms of tuberculosis, Thalassemia, cancer and neurological illnesses
  • Mother and Child Programme proving ante and post-natal care
  • Special nutrition programmes for newborns and breast-feeding mothers
Half of the world’s children suffering from malnutrition are found in India! In war-torn Eritrea, the infant mortality rate is at 45 per 1000 and in India it is 63 per 1000. In Botswana maternal mortality rate is at 100 per 100,000 and in India it reaches 400 per 100,000. 47% of Indian children under 3 are under-nourished. Remedying this early on allows the child to develop normally and with no after-effects.
